Experimental and Analytical Modeling of Ground Displacement Induced by Dynamic Compaction in Granular Soils

Dynamic compaction (DC) is a ground treatment method that achieves soil densification effects using impact forces. The displacement of crater induced by hammer often used for the determination densification, but less attention has been paid to internal in ground. To establish an overall understanding displacements caused DC, laboratory experiment was conducted with sand. included four energy levels changing falling height hammer. Meanwhile, calculation model based on stochastic media theory proposed calculate soil. relationship between geometric characteristics and established experimental results. ranges relevant parameters were determined, feasibility verified. showed good consistency data. By selecting critical settlement, could be estimate specific scope, including reinforcement depth radius. This can provide reference optimization DC.
